Canada invites 3,500 trades people to apply for permanent residence!
- 03 Oct, 2026
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 3,500 tradespeople to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry. To qualify for this draw, candidates needed to meet the minimum work experience requirements for the Trades category, achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 476, and have created an Express Entry candidate profile before 12:47:55 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on October 1, 2026; candidates with a CRS score of 476 were required to have created their profile on or before May 28, 2026, at 16:55:23 UTC. Foreign nationals already in Canada who have applied for permanent residence through Express Entry may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP), and if their current work permit expires before a decision is made on the BOWP, maintained status may allow them to continue working under the same conditions, provided they continue to reside in Canada. Qualifying family members may also be eligible to apply for an open work permit.
